RESURRECTION BAPTIST CHURCH
YOUTH MENTORING PROGRAM
OVERVIEW
The Resurrection Mentoring Program (RMP) is a Faith-based Program for children and youth ages 8-17. The program directors are collaborating with neighboring faith-based partners, local business and community leaders, the Philadelphia Leadership Foundation (Amachi, Inc), Metro United Methodist Urban Ministry, and the United States Department of Justice, (OJJDP), to expand and strengthen the capacity of faith and community based organizations serving youth and caring adults, by enhancing and building positive role modeling relationships.
Mentoring is a structured and trusting relationship that brings young people together with caring individuals who offer guidance, support and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of the mentee.
Mentors must be 18 years or older and should be able to meet certain general criteria for approval to volunteer within the program. For volunteering just 1 hour per week to engage in planned activities with our mentees, will develop trusting relationships that will serve to make a rewarding difference in their lives. These activities will generally take place on site at the Resurrection Baptist Church or another designated site.
